Yet despite these differences we know that we are all sinners and need Jesus everyday.
Preaching / Teaching
At Faith Bible Church we strive to have a high view of God and a high view of His Word: The Bible.
We believe the Bible should be preeminent in our hearts and lives, which is why we center our worship service on the expository, verse-by-verse teaching and preaching of God’s word. During our learning hour (prior to the worship service) we strive to offer a mix of classes simultaneously that are Biblical (books of the Bible), theological (topical), and practical (specific areas of life). We also frequently offer the Faith Bible Life Class (taught by a pastor) which covers our doctrinal distinctives, our church constitution, and our philosophy of ministry. Taking this class is a requirement for membership.

Worship Philosophy
Here at FBC we believe that everything we do in life is part of our worship (Romans 12:2), even when we gather corporately (preaching, fellowship, giving, and singing). However, we know that corporate worship through song is an essential part of our glorifying God and encouraging others in the faith (Colossians 3:16-17). So, while the preaching of God's word is the most prominent part of our worship service, corporate singing also plays a large role. We sing a mix of theologically accurate songs (both old and new) that enable us to worship in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). While we use various kinds of instruments in our music, it is played in such as way as to encourage corporate participation. Songs written by Sovereign Grace Music and Getty Music are examples of the kinds of contemporary songs we sing. We also try to incorporate at least one classic hymn a week. We typically close the worship service with a corporate time of signing to allow us to respond to the truths we heard during the preaching.

What do you teach and believe?
Here at Faith Bible Church, the short answer is, “We teach the Bible.” And, we certainly have been influenced by confessions of faith and theologians of the past and present for whom we give thanks and with whom we would identify.
In short, we have been most influenced by the strand of theology coming out of the protestant reformation that can be summed up by the statements: Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone, To the Glory of God Alone.
We teach the God of the Bible is sovereign, yet relational, making men and women in his image to glorify him on this earth. Yet, despite our rebellion and falling into sin and alienation from our creator and deserving of His wrath, God had planned a gospel of redemption to save fallen sinners through the unique person and work of Jesus Christ. This unique savior will not only redeem individual human beings but will one day create and lead a new humanity on a new earth where all the effects of sin will be undone. All things that come to pass in history are ordained by God, which he uses for his glory and the good of those who know him through faith in Jesus. The mission of the church, until Jesus returns, is to glorify God by living lives that conform to the commands of Jesus and making his gospel known to people of all nations.
Confessions of faith which we feel faithfully summarize the truths of God’s Word are the Apostles Creed, the Belgic Confession (1561), the 1st and 2nd London Baptist Confession (1689), and the Westminster Confession of Faith (1647). While we do not agree with every statement in these documents which do not impact the Gospel, we are proud to stand in the tradition of faithful Bible teaching upon which they were written.
Some of those from history which we have most been influenced by would be men like: John Calvin, Martin Luther, John Owen, Jonathan Edwards, and Charles Spurgeon. More modern-day men would be D. Martin Lloyd Jones, R.C. Sproul, John MacArther, Mark Dever, and Albert Mohler.
Ministries that we would endorse would be Grace to You, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Boyce College, The Master's University and Seminary, Ligonier Ministries, IX Marks, Answers in Genesis, and Crossway.

How do you care for the community?
We care for our community primarily by pointing others to their need for Christ and through meeting practical needs. Some of the ways in which we do this are to constantly stock a food pantry for anyone who is in need. We host a community outreach dinner the last Tuesday of every month as well as a clothing/household item giveaway most months in the city of Canton. We reach out to nursing homes, schools, jails, and our members individually share the love of Christ in many ways, shapes, and forms as they GO on mission. Speaking of mission and outreach, see our ABOUT page to see our missions philosophy, the various places we serve, and how we show the love of Christ to others.
Do you have a Senior Pastor?
Faith Bible Church is committed to the leadership structure that we see outlined in the book of Acts (13:24, 20:17-30) and in the NT letters to the churches (I Tim. 5:17, Titus 1:5, Hebrews 13:7, 17). What this means is that while some of our Pastors are supported financially by the church and others are not, the local church is to be led by a plurality of pastors (also called elders and overseers in the NT) that lead, feed and protect the people of God with equal authority and all teaching the word of God in some capacity (I Tim. 3:1-7, I Pet. 5:1-5). However, based on gifts and availability, each pastor's emphasis of ministry will differ. In terms of church matters (financial, setting philosophy, leadership appointments, ministry decisions), the elders are authorized by Jesus to make these decisions in the church (Heb. 13:7, 17).

What do your Deacons Do?
Like with pastors, our model for Deacons is taken from the NT where we see godly men (meeting qualifications of I Tim. 3:8-10) whose office exists to assist the Pastors with the care of God's church. Depending on the time and place in which the church exists, how long the church has been in existence, and the gifts of the pastors and deacons, their tasks could be anything which frees up the pastors to focus on their primary calling of the teaching the Word of God and prayer (Acts 6:4). This could include handling benevolence situations, caring for widows, administering communion, overseeing the collection and counting of the offering, overseeing building maintenance and projects, or teaching a class. Regardless of what they are asked to do by the elders, ideally they represent the spectrum of serving gifts in the church and use them as an example of sacrificial service (I Peter 5:10-11)

We love little ones here at FBC! Newborn babies through the early toddler stages are welcome and cherished, they can be dropped off in our Infant Nursery.
Your children will be cared for by volunteers who love them and will care for yours as if they were their own.
All of our workers have undergone background checks and have been cleared to work with children per FBC’s volunteer policy. Additionally, for your child’s security we use a check-in system for drop-off and pickup, and every classroom has a window in the door for easy viewing.

Children
At Faith Bible Church, our children learn to worship God for who He is, based on an understanding that we are all sinners in need of a savior. We do this by meeting as a unified children’s church for group singing and teaching.
Then we divide into small groups for age-appropriate teaching and discussion. We alternate working through the Gospel Project Curriculum and the New City Catechism allowing each child to go through the entirety of the bible and a study of theology twice during their time in Children’s Ministry.

Safety Philosophy
We take safety seriously as indicated by the fact that our class workers are background checked and vetted by our Pastoral staff. Additionally, our classroom policy does not allow for an adult to be alone with a child. To accommodate this philosophy, we strive for our classes to include both a male and a female staff person – depending on our volunteer pool. We also use a check-in system for drop-off and pickup, and have windows on our classroom doors for accountability and safety. We also have a safety team on hand throughout the building every Sunday morning and evening to respond to various types of emergencies.
Student Ministries
The purpose of our student ministry is to provide a safe place for pre-teens and teenagers to grow in their Christian Faith. We accomplish this through preaching and teaching God’s unchanging and perfect Word.
We believe that the best way for us to function as a ministry is to assist parents in pointing their children to Christ and to mature in their faith. Our role isn’t to be the big show in town, rather it is to partner with parents and come alongside them to help support the nurturing of a faith deposited.
We meet on Sunday mornings and most Wednesday nights with special events and evening activities throughout the year. If you are looking for a fun place for your student to experience the love of Jesus in the church and through others, look no further.
